STAMPS
PICTURING
THE NEWFOUNDLAND DOG
There are several famous paintings which feature the Newfoundland Dog.
The most famous of these is Sir Edwin Landseer's
"A Distinguished
Member of the Humane Society", painted in 1838.
Almost equally as famous, is the 1878 painting by Auguste Renoir titled
"Madame Charpentier and Her
Children Paul and Georgette".

This painting has been the subject of several
different sets
of stamps.
