                     The location shown on these stamps was on  Ile Aux Chiens
                          (Island of Dogs).  There are eight values to this set.

                       

             
THE 'FRANCE LIBRE' OVERPRINTS

The overprints were applied to those stocks of stamps that  were still
 available at the St. Pierre post office.

The overprints were prepared by order of Vice Admiral Muselier to
rally the Free French Forces against Nazi occupied France.

December 31, 1941.  Their sales was limited to two sets per family.
